  1. Washington D.C.

Of course, the nation’s capital hosts one of the best July Fourth fireworks displays around. It doesn’t get any more patriotic than watching the fireworks fill the sky with the White House in front of you. You can watch the fireworks reflect in the pool in front of the Washington Monument. Grab a seat on the steps of the Lincoln or Jefferson Memorials to catch a great view of the fireworks. The best view you could get is from a nice grassy spot on the National Mall. We recommend arriving early, as this area will be very busy and full of people all day long.

New York City is known for its great July Fourth fireworks show that it hosts thanks to Macy’s. The celebration known as the Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular has been an annual tradition in the city for many years. This fireworks show is one of the largest in the country and is viewed by over 3 million people annually. The show uses over 50,000 effects for the night and lasts 25 minutes. Musical guests are also featured with this celebration with past guests including Usher, Beyoncé, and Mariah Carey.

This Dallas suburb may be home to about 15,000 people, but it’s known to fill up with over 500,000 people for its Kaboom Town celebration! Though this celebration occurs on July 3rd, this fireworks show is one you don’t want to miss. This 30-minute long fireworks show uses 3,500 pounds of fireworks and features an airshow by the Cavanaugh Flight Museum. The best place to view this show is from Addison Circle Park, but the show can be seen from almost anywhere in town.

Chicago hosts an amazing fireworks show from their iconic Navy Pier. The Navy Pier has many different things for you to do during the day. Whether you catch a movie at their IMAX Theater or enjoy one of the rides at the pier. The best view of the fireworks would have to be from the Navy Pier’s Ferris Wheel as you ascend 150-feet above ground to catch the fireworks!

San Diego hosts a huge July Fourth celebration for the night with their Big Bay Boom event. The Big Bay Boom consists of four barges spread throughout the bay to provide a view of the fireworks from many locations. The locations that the fireworks can be seen best would be Shelter Island, Harbor Island, North Embarcadero, Marina District, Seaport Village/South Embarcadero and Coronado Ferry Landing. From one of these locations, you can watch the fireworks launch into the sky above San Diego.

Nashville hosts their Music City July 4th: Let Freedom Sing! This July Fourth fireworks show includes a full day of free music and fireworks choreographed to a live set from the Nashville Symphony. The artists who perform art this event are country stars or similar such as Sheryl Crow and Maddie & Tae. This event can draw in nearly 200,000 people each year to downtown Music City!

St. Louis hosts their Fair Saint Louis July Fourth celebration that lasts from July 2nd until July 4th. Fair Saint Louis is hosted at the 1,371-acre Forest Park and sets the stage for “America’s Biggest Birthday Party.” The fair will have concerts and exhibitions throughout the course of the fest. The annual event has been a success each year with every day including 15,000 pounds of fireworks being launched each night.

Boston has just announced that in 2017, the Boston Pops will take over leadership of the city’s July 4th Esplanade events. The event features live music performed by the Boston Pops Orchestra, which features real cannon fire! The fireworks are launched from seven barges in the Charles River providing an unbelievable show for you to watch!

Jersey’s famed resort, Atlantic City, will not only have you enjoying a great time at the boardwalk but will also give you two opportunities to watch the show. The first show happens on July 3, with fireworks erupting from two barges along the Boardwalk. The second show occurs on July Fourth from a platform in the Marina District. Each show lasts 15 minutes and starts off with a reading from the Declaration of Independence. Atlantic City is always packed in the summer, but July Fourth fireworks show can draw up to 250,000 spectators!

San Francisco Bay is the stage for this dramatic July Fourth fireworks show. The show incorporates 10,000 effects for a 25-minute long fireworks spectacle. The fireworks are launched from barges in the water off of Municipal Pier and north of Pier 39 in the Fisherman’s Wharf district. Pier 39 is the best place to get a great view of the fireworks, but anywhere on Fisherman’s Wharf will work. This July Fourth fireworks show always attracts many viewers so be sure to arrive early.

The Stratosphere Casino, Hotel & Tower will launch fireworks from their property as well as Caesars Palace and Mandalay Bay. All night before July Fourth, the sky will be filled with fireworks along the infamous Las Vegas strip. The City of Henderson also holds an annual July Fourth celebration with live music, games, and a fireworks show. Boulder City also hosts their Damboree celebration with a pancake breakfast, games, parade, and a large fireworks display!
